Tom Pisano, an Education Development Manager and a former Apple Computer trainer has a wonderful metaphor about Technology:
"A hammer and saw together do not build a house. A hammer, saw and a man could build a shelter. A hammer, saw and a trained craftsman can build a house.
"Technology could be a tool that allows learning to take place. Technology in the hands of a trained educator can indeed raise enough questions to motivate meaningful learning."
Passionate attention to detail
Here's an excellent educational technology site from the North Central Regional Educational Laboratory (NCREL) that lists so many different resources for teachers and administrators to use!
Watched a Webinar about Social Media presented by Rick Burnes, with help from his colleague, Jill Heagarty, marketing associate at Hub Spot. The excellent presentation was entitled: "How to Monitor Your Social Media Presence in 10 Minutes a Day."
Rick advised people not to just make noise on Social websites like a cackling hen, but rather, a busy beaver, building a dam and future home.
Hubspot even allows you to download the slides and save them! Excellent service!

Guy Kawasaki, certainly one of the most respected technology evangelists on the planet gives this advice: "Sell your dreams, not a product. Inspire and create meaning. Follow the 5 S's.

An English writer, Arthur C. Clarke, b. 1917, wrote this about Technology: "Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic!"
Steward Brand wisely said: "Once a new technology rolls over you, if you're not part of the steamroller, you're part of the road."
Perhaps that's what Marshall McLuhan meant when he said: "The future masters of technology will hae to be light-hearted and intelligent. The machine easily masters the grim and the dumb."
We have to constantly be on the lookout and keep abreast of new challenges. But also keep this foremost in our minds:
"Technology does not run an enterprise, relationships do." Patricia Fripp.
